OK Gold Rush Grand Prix

The OKLAHOMA GOLD RUSH Grand Prix is one of the only asphalt and dirt grand prix in the US, celebrating 16 years of racing in 2011. Our cross-country MOTORCYCLE – ATV – UTV event takes riders on a little over 1.5 miles of asphalt racetrack and a little over 9 miles of dirt trail at the Hallett Motor Racing Circuit.

We change the course a little every year, so the wooded sections are always fresh. We’ve packed a lot of variety into the ride. It has technical sections, fast off-road sections, rocky sections, creek crossings,  small jumps  and an  over-under bridge.

The asphalt section of the race is a little over 1.5 miles on the 10-turn road race course, with over 80 feet of elevation changes. We’ve clocked racers at speeds up to 100 MPH. This is the same course that features CMRA  motorcycle road racing, SCCA car racing, in addition to the local Porsche, Shelby and Viper clubs.

The facilities are top notch at Hallett; you have actual racetrack facilities with indoor restrooms, an indoor restaurant (you can sit down or take out from the counter). There are asphalt roads running through the pits, and running water.

Oklahoma Gold Rush is a very family-oriented event. We have parent-child teams who race, and sometimes we’ll see father, mother, son and daughter racing in the same event. We have classes available for the whole family, and all levels of riders, and professional pictures are available.

It’s a great community we see every year. Road-racers, Flat trackers,
Motocrossers, Cross country racers, and some people that make the Oklahoma Gold Rush the only event they ride all year.

OK Grand Prix History:

The GOLD RUSH started in 1995 at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit with 90 Motorcycle Riders and about 150 spectators. Within a couple of years ATV’s were added to the event and was up to almost 300 riders and about 500 spectators. It’s has continued to grow each year, In 2009 UTV (side by sides) classes were added. In 2010 we saw 788 Racers and over 2000 spectators attend the event.

We patterned our race after the Elsinore Grand Prix, the Catalina Island Grand Prix (a race off the coast of California in the late 40′s and 50′s), the Tecate Grand Prix in Mexico and the San Diego Grand Prix. Each of these events helped to shape the Oklahoma Gold Rush into the event it is today.

In 2005 we bought 40 acres next to  Hallett Motor Racing Circuit for additional dirt sections, and had 6 to 7 miles of dirt trails. In 2007 we bought an additional 180 acres, so now we average around 9 miles of dirt trails for the GOLD RUSH.
